About Us
Our Full Story
The Nepean, Rideau and Osgoode Community Resource Centre (NROCRC) has been serving Ottawa residents since 1985. We are a non-profit charitable organization offering free, confidential community services — no referral needed.
We support the largest population and serve the largest physical territory of all of Ottawa's community resource centres — over 200,000 people across Wards 3, 20, and 21.
Our Mission
To provide free, accessible, and culturally responsive place-based services that strengthen wellbeing, build connections, and support individuals and families through life's challenges.
Our Vision
A community where every person has the support, resources, and connections they need to thrive.
Our Values
Compassion
We meet people where they are, with empathy and without judgement.
Respect
Every person who walks through our door is treated with dignity.
Accessibility
Our services are free and available to all, regardless of background.
Collaboration
We work alongside community partners to multiply our impact.
Integrity
We are accountable to our clients, our funders, and our community.
Inclusion
We celebrate diversity and build space where everyone belongs.
Our History
Founded in 1985, NROCRC began as a small neighbourhood resource centre responding to the growing needs of families in Nepean's suburban communities. Over four decades we have expanded our reach and services significantly, adapting to the changing demographics and needs of our community.
Today we operate out of the Emerald Plaza on Merivale Road, serving residents across Ward 3 (Barrhaven West), Ward 20 (Osgoode), and Ward 21 (Rideau-Jock) — the largest service territory of any community resource centre in Ottawa.
Our Territory
NROCRC serves residents across three municipal wards in Ottawa's south and west:
- Ward 3 – Barrhaven West
- Ward 20 – Osgoode
- Ward 21 – Rideau-Jock
Our catchment area covers over 200,000 residents — the largest population served by any community resource centre in Ottawa.
